According to the report, three main groups are expected to drive this year’s remodeling expenditures:

Homeowners that have recently purchased discounted or foreclosed homes.
Consumers interested in taking advantage of federal tax credits for energy-efficient upgrades like windows.
Baby boomers that are preparing their homes for retirements. They’re in need of better lighting, among other aging-in-place features. And they’re looking for upgrades at a valuable price.
